Phil Frost’s painting and mixed-media works feature layers of painterly and calligraphic patterns in which grimacing faces appear.

Frost came to prominence as a street artist, covertly installing paintings in the streets of New York in the 1990s. This work brought him notice and he was featured in the PBS series “City Arts” in 1994. He has been exhibiting in galleries and museum since 1997.
